Why It Matters to You
You get the tools you need to market and sell your art for fun and profit in today's competitive art business world.
It has been said that there are more people making art than are buying art. That means that visibility is crucial if artists want their work to be seen by buyers. The visibility problem is worse for some very good artists who may not be very knowledgable about the business side of art, or who simply lack an essential bit of knowledge about internet art marketing.
As a result, these artists are not able to successfully promote themselves or their art. Some artists intuitively know that they want more from their art, but may need help in order to verbalize, organize or categorize their wants. ArtistsConsult, LLC, was created to address those problems, and to help those artists who feel that they are not realizing their full potential.
Our goal is to empower those talented fine artists who want to increase awareness of their art offerings, boost art sales or want increased profitability, but lack the necessary tools, techniques or knowledge.
Who Are We?
We are two business professionals and entrepreneurs, each of us with with over twenty-five years of successful experience in a combination of bottom-line responsible positions: consulting, sales management, business management and business owners.
Dr. Milman also holds B.S. and M.S. degrees in industrial design, specializing in textile and apparel design. Past experience includes managing a Fashion House; first as an Art Director and then as Design Center CEO.
His teaching & business background gives him perfect insight for distilling and conveying complex ideas to professional artists and other business people.
Mr. Miller's third career came about as a result of early retirement from the Aerospace Industry. (Career #1 involved technical and quality assurance disciplines, and career #2 consisted of middle management roles in contracts management, intellectual property management, and management consulting in the aerospace and software industries). He has been involved with promoting the careers of approximately 200 artists and other small business clients during the past 14 years. During this time he also served as an advisor to the board of directors of a local fine arts organization and operated a small gallery for a short time.
His experience reviewing thousands of portfolios and other artist inquiries (email, telephone and snail mail) has convinced him that there are some very good artists who need help managing the business side of their art careers.
